Sundial Foods

Behold, the future of vegan “chicken” wings from Sundial Foods! When the owners contacted me about doing a shoot for their website and packaging, I was honestly intrigued by the concept of a chickpea-based vegan wing that replicates the tissue AND skin of the real thing. What a brilliant idea!

Sundial vegan chicken wings with buffalo dip and veggies offer a delicious plant-based option for non-meat eaters.

Their plan is to sell them in restaurants and bars alongside standard chicken wings, so some of the styling we worked on mimics a bar setting, with a rough gray surface and minimalistic serving boards and plates. In the photo above, barbecue sauce is a delicious addition, but we also did a version of vegan chicken and waffles that smelled amazing on set.

In addition to the bar setting, we planned for a few images on their “Sundial yellow” background, most of which was added in post.

After getting a positive response last week about setting up a shop to sell prints, I did a test run of the bubbles from my preferred photo lab. I printed them on metallic paper to reinforce the iridescent nature of the subject and they look spectacular! I’m in the process of putting up the shop now, and should have something to show you next week. Keep your eyes open!
