Project: Packaging photography for Meati mushroom-based vegan cutlets
THE BRIEF
As part of a packaging design update, Smith Design hired me to photograph Meati’s vegan cutlets to appear on the front of packaging and plated dishes featuring their product to appear on the back.
THE PLAN
Over two days in studio, I worked closely with the team at Smith Design to highlight the texture of the cutlets — from the craggy exteriors of breaded cutlets and colorful herb- and pepper-crusted varieties, to their hearty meat-like interiors. Carefully sculpting the lighting allowed me to deliver mouthwatering images that spring from the bold packaging. Shooting each cutlet slice individually allowed for maximum flexibility in final packaging design.
