Project: Lifestyle photography for website and catalog redesign, plus social media usage
THE BRIEF
Smith Design hired me to create a variety of still images featuring Simit + Smith’s globally-inspired breads and pastries for their new website and catalog, along with social media use. My main responsibilities were the lifestyle images featuring a hand model, moving into styled sets later in the day.
THE PLAN
During one studio day, we photographed lifestyle images of Simit + Smith’s breads and pastries in various scenarios with inviting lighting and irregular, rustic props. I crafted the soft light to drop off into deep shadow for the model images, keeping everything warm and approachable.
THE RESULTS
The team at Smith Design won two awards from Creativity International Awards for the Simit + Smith website and catalog redesigns, in part for the "breathtaking photography."
BEHIND THE SCENES
With the help of the project’s producer, I built a tower of bread on a second set to highlight the abundance of Simit + Smith’s products.
