THE BRIEF

Commodity Fragrances hired me to shoot product imagery and motion content for several of their signature scents. The brand has a clean, minimalist aesthetic, and they needed visuals that felt calm and refined without being overly styled or fussy. The content needed to work across product pages, email campaigns, and social media.

THE PLAN

I kept the visual approach simple: sets that reinforced the name of the scents, clean surfaces, subtle textures, and careful lighting that highlighted the bottles without distracting from them. I wanted to show off the shape of the glass, the liquid inside, and create soft shadows that added depth without being dramatic.

I shot stills and motion at the same time. The video clips were designed to feel natural and restrained, just adding a little movement and atmosphere that extended what the stills were already doing.

I stayed in close contact with the Commodity team throughout the shoot to make sure everything stayed true to their brand. In post, I kept the retouching subtle, refining things rather than transforming them.

THE RESULTS

The final set of images and motion clips presents Commodity in a way that feels modern, polished, and approachable. The photography focuses on form, texture, and detail, while the video adds mood without being over the top.

They've used the assets across their ecommerce site, digital marketing, and social platforms. It's a good example of how clean product photography and restrained motion can support a luxury brand without feeling overproduced.
