Working safely with remote studio shoots
Long before Covid was a thing, I offered remote studio shoots to my clients, allowing them to work from their home or office while still having the opportunity to art direct in real time. It’s a simple process, really:
Prior to the photo shoot, we’ll discuss art direction, timeline, budget and your goals to create a seamless experience.
You ship your product to me, and I confirm I have everything necessary for the shoot.
We schedule the shoot to take place on a day when you’ll be free to provide immediate feedback, within 15 minutes or so of seeing the photo. This will keep the shoot moving along, and make sure we stay within our budgeted time, since I only move to to the next photo after approval of the one we’re working on.
After the shoot and photo processing, I’ll box up your product and ship it back to you.
Communication during the shoot can take place in a number of ways:
If you want to art direct in real time, we’ll set up a tethered camera connection with Zoom conferencing so you can view the set and offer input along the way.
If you’d rather simply see the photos as they come in, I can set up a remote feed for you where the images will pop up in a gallery as I drop them.
Or, we can rely on a text/email combination.
If you’d prefer to be on set, we can rent a studio that’s convenient for everyone.
