THE BRIEF

Sundial Foods hired me to create promotional and website photography for the launch of their chickpea-based vegan chicken wings. Initially, the need was for PR images and announcements of where to find their chicken wings, as they were only available at select restaurants and bars. The images needed to convey the texture and crunch of the vegan chicken wing “skin” while also demonstrating the unique interior sinewy texture that makes this wing a fairly close approximation of the real thing. The second shoot of lifestyle images would shift the focus to retail sales and website/social media population.

THE PLAN

Following our initial call, I created an action plan for our PR shoot, and with some refinement over a few weeks, finalized a shot list to cover all the essentials.

For our second shoot of lifestyle images for website and social media uses, I found four models of diverse backgrounds to pose in brunch, happy hour, and restaurant server scenarios.

For both shoots, I worked within the company’s color palette to select props and backgrounds, and edited the images in post to make sure colors matched the cheerful gold and orange of Sundial’s branding.

THE RESULTS

We made minimalist-yet-fun images that delivered exactly what my client needed.

As a bonus, I created animated gifs from some of the still images to create eye-catching visuals for social media use.
