PROJECTS
Client: Tasty Ribbon
Project: Website launch photography with additional use in advertisements, marketing and social media
THE BRIEF
Tasty Ribbon selected me to photograph all of their website assets with additional use in ads, marketing and social media. While direct retail was a big part of the website, the photography also needed to be appealing for corporate gifting.
THE PLAN
Planning is essential to the success of any photoshoot, but especially for one with such a broad scope. We worked on overall art direction first, choosing marble surfaces and props with a handcrafted feel to emphasize the premium nature of the imported food products Tasty Ribbon was featuring.
Over the course of five days in studio, we worked our way through a wide variety of images — basic product photography with gift boxes on white, intricately styled banners, and beauty photos to illustrate each carefully curated grouping of products.
Because each of the beauty images was styled with a time of day in mind, the lighting was varied to create just the right atmosphere — long shadows for morning and evening themes, and more overhead lighting with shorter shadows for mid-day. All images were treated to careful color grading in post to ensure that time-of-day fidelity.
