THE CHALLENGE

Tasty Ribbon, a curated Italian gourmet gift company, hired me to shoot all of the photography for their website launch. The imagery needed to serve both clean ecommerce presentation and lifestyle content that conveyed the premium quality of their collections, with assets flexible enough for digital ads, social, and seasonal promotions. The shoot spanned five studio days, with a professional food stylist brought in to craft the table settings and food compositions.

THE PLAN

The visual direction centered on settings that felt intentional but approachable: clean marble backgrounds for product clarity, broader tabletop environments to suggest real occasions like breakfast spreads, antipasti, or holiday gatherings. The five days moved through three modes:

• core product photography for ecommerce grids

• styled beauty images with curated food groupings

• lifestyle scenes built around seasonal themes and real use cases

Lighting shifted based on mood and time of day, with softer directional light for morning and evening feels and more even overhead light for mid-day scenes. In post, color and tonal consistency across the full library ensured every image could travel across site templates, banners, and marketing placements.

THE RESULTS

The final library anchored Tasty Ribbon's website launch across ecommerce pages, home page banners, category headers, digital ads, social content, and seasonal gift guides. By balancing clean product shots with atmospheric lifestyle scenes, the photography communicated the experience of the brand, not just the products.
