THE BRIEF
The Vintage Advisor hired me to shoot product and lifestyle imagery for their line of candles, room sprays, and diffusers. They needed visuals for their website and social platforms that felt premium, calm, and spa-like. Their initial direction leaned minimalist and sculptural, so the goal was to create something clean and serene that would work for both ecommerce and storytelling.
THE PLAN
I built the shoot around a spa-inspired aesthetic: natural stone surfaces, long shadows, and carefully controlled light to create that calm, tactile feeling. I used tropical plant shadows to add subtle motion and flow without cluttering the frame.
The production ran over two days. I shot stills and motion at the same time, which meant we could capture short video clips for social and web use without needing a separate shoot later. Some of the motion pieces were planned, others happened spontaneously when we saw something working on set.
The whole approach was about reinforcing that premium, relaxed mood while keeping the assets flexible enough to use across their marketing channels immediately.
THE RESULTS
The final package included stills and short-form motion clips that captured not just what the products look like, but how they feel. That sensory element is key for home goods, where mood and experience drive purchase decisions.
The Vintage Advisor has used the content heavily across their website and social platforms. It gave them the premium positioning they were after while staying true to the minimalist, spa-like vibe they wanted from the start.
