Born Free Eggs
I’m excited to share images from a recent photo shoot I did for Born Free Eggs as part of a larger design and branding project headed by Smith Design. I always enjoy working on shoots with their team because they’re such a well-oiled machine, having worked together for years. The art direction, food and set styling, and post-production are all done in-house, which makes every photo shoot run like clockwork.
What was most fun about this two-day photo shoot was the chance to photograph a variety of scenes. Day one was all models, and the setups were generally divided between four younger models at brunch, and two older models preparing and serving food for a date night, so I varied the lighting to tell those stories. It was really interesting to work with people who make a living because of their ease in front of the camera (as well as their good looks). They really made for a delightful photo shoot!
Day two was spent photographing prepared foods, some with integrated product like you see at the top of the post. The idea was to illustrate a variety of recipes which will live on the Born Free website and social feeds. Lauren Dellabella was brought in to style all of these gorgeous egg dishes, and I really enjoyed chatting with her between setups and after we wrapped.
Every good photo shoot is a collaboration not only between client and photographer, but with all of the professionals who bring their expertise to the table (sometimes literally), including food stylists, prop stylists, models, hair & makeup artists, retouchers, art directors and assistants! I’m thankful for the chance to work with so many talented people in this industry.
